Respiratory Insufficiency
Respiratory insufficiency occurs when the lungs are unable to provide enough oxygen to the body or remove enough carbon dioxide to maintain normal breathing. This can cause symptoms such as shortness of breath, fatigue, headaches, disturbed sleep, and difficulty performing everyday activities.

Respiratory insufficiency may be associated with conditions such as COPD, neuromuscular disorders, obesity hypoventilation syndrome, or chronic lung disease. While it may develop gradually, proper diagnosis and treatment are important to prevent symptoms from worsening.
Treatment for respiratory insufficiency often includes oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation (such as BiPAP or CPAP), or other home respiratory equipment to support breathing and improve comfort and quality of life.
